I am sure this would have been posted before but I can't find the info I need.

I need to clean my lens as being a newbie, I am learning the basics step by step, like... "don't put thumb on lens". :cuckoo:

I don't want to rush in there and clean it in a way that could damage it, so what should I do? :help: Are there kits that I nee to buy for this?

Thanks

Craig

Get yourself a good lens cloth and a rocket blower. Make sure you blow any loose grit and dust off the element then when you are happy there is nothing that will scratch the glass give it a good buff with the lens cloth to get rid of any smearing.

Apparently lens pens work well but I've never used one so can't advise you on them.

Don't be paranoid about cleaning lenses, they are more resilient than you'd think.

Good luck

Nah.. go for this:

and something like this:

All you really need for lenses IMHO. Someone here might be able to advise you on the best lens cloth but I don't think theres much in it to be honest, any of the microfibres will be fine :)

I vote for a lens pen. One of the few cheap products that I'd claim really made a difference to my life. Unfortunately I only found out about them recently.

If you have dust inside, a rocket blower is essential. Just be careful not to touch anything inside!

Lens pen looks quite handy, the reviews all seem good, and you guys obviously think well of them. I'll order one. :)

Thanks for your input.
