hi guys I could use some advice if possible?

just wondering whats the best products to clean a lens and filters

from looking about I was thinking about ordering some
Eclipse Lens/Sensor cleaning fluid and pec pad wipes

just wondering if there are better options that you guys use?

That would be a good combination. You could use a lens brush and a normal cloth you would use on glasses. Don't worry about keeping the lens front or filters spotless as the odd spec of dust is not going to make a difference.

I was really impressed with my lenspen copy from ebay. I had ordered a soft cloth as well but the cloth really isn't needed. You just use the soft brush on the pen to get most of the crap off and then the little cleaning pad. It actually soaks up all the great rather than smearing it around like cloths do. For 2 quid it is quite remarkable. No doubt the actual lenspen products would be just as good or better.

I do have a lens pen but its really old now and leaves smears (didn't at first)
might at well get another one for the bag

will grab them other bits too they will last for ages

Another vote for the Lenspen.

Make sure there is no grit on the lens and then I use an optical fibre cloth ("borrowed" from my wife's new glasses) like the ones you can get from an opticians

1) Rocket blower
2) Brush
3) Rocket blower again
4) Lens pen

But only if it really, really needs it.

I guess I clean more lenses more often than anyone here. I've tried all sorts of things over the last 4 years, but my essential kit is now:
(1) Rocket blower
(2) Single-use tissues
(3) Isopropyl alcohol

The vast majority of lenses and filters only need (1) and (2), plus a bit of breathing on the glass before applying the tissue. For tough problems such as very greasy fingerprints, a quick spray of (3) helps clear them up.

The key aspect, though, is the single-use tissues. I would never want to touch a lens with anything that might have tint particles of dust or grit on it, because that could make things worse rather than better.

If it's fine dust then a rocket blower, after that it's a fine soft brush, and if it's still there I use a Lenspen and microfibre cloth. If it's fine and dry dust and I'm out then it's a blow across the top of the lens, not towards it, that seems to work but never a cloth first. I think I've only ever cleaned my Canon 100-400 L once with Lenspen and cloth, and a blow across my Canon 24-105 f4 L and my Sigma 150-500 OS. Never needed it on my other lenses, but it's surprizing how dusty your lens has to be to affect your photos.

Pretty much any of the above. I use a blower and a lens pen (it has a brush at the opposite end from the pad), and a microfibre cloth or lens tissue and isopropyl alcohol for anything stubborn. Just don't overdo it. A bit of dust on the front element won't show up in the images, as others have said.
