Help please "URGENT" Could anyone advice me on the best lens to buy from these two:- Sigma 28-300mm Aspherical f3.5-6.3 Zoom Canon fit..@£125.00
Or
Canon EF-S 55-250 f4.5-6. Image stabiliser Zoom @ £145.00

Thank's Andrew for you quick reply, I already have a Tamron 75-300 but it went wrong and the repair would be almost as much as the one's I'm after. I use it mainly for the birds in my garden and occasionally sport.

Can't comment about the sigma but the canon is excellant for the price and has IS. The canon performs above it's price range IMHO
 
I always think when a lens has so much to do that the IQ will always suffer a bit.. the best ever cheapish zoom lens I have ever used is the Sigma 70-300 APO, it is awesome

Sorry to throw a spanner in your works but that lens can be found for under £180 or even less used.
