Lens changing without three hands

You need to practise the one-handed lens change (I think I'll give it a go but I'm a bit worried about dropping one - best to practise over the bed perhaps):

Is this not just the easiest thing to do?

Well I just had a go with a few lenses and I didn't find it that easy with hood attached (reversed or otherwise). All the lenses I tried were physically small (10-20, 17-50 and a little Tamron 70-300). Hoods off and it became a lot easier. I was wary of having a good hold of both lenses and of rotating zoom or focus rings instead of the lens barrel.

Looks like that is OK for lenses up to a certain size and with reasonably large hands.
