Well, it didnt take long to loose my first lens cap.

Im sure this is a daft question but what size lens cap do i need for a canon 18-55 lens? 55mm?

Also what do you guys do to prevent the loss of lens caps? on my old fuji bridge camera there was a lens cap holder on the strap and the cap was also attached to the lens via a cord. I assume this wouldnt work on a slr because of the different sized lens caps for each lens?

Cheers,

Paul.

58mm lens cap
Put it in your pocket!

Accordin to google its a 58mm (I'm a Nikon user so cant really say for certain) & as to the lanyards you can get them from the bay & yes there are ones available for 99% of the lens caps - prob find those on the bay as well...

I had a couple of 72 & 77 & 86mm caps with the "string" attached to the front/edges.... You can pick them up cheap enough so have a spare for next time you looooose another :p

ebay. item number 280641510890 but there is only one in a pack, keep digging in ebay as when i bought mine there were five per pack

is that your lens cap.. or are you just pleased to see me...?

Nope, not working mate.

Trying to work a ditty about Tina and her bra. Be safer not to though..............:D

Cap comes off anbd goes straight into either shirt pocket or fleece pocket. hood gets turned right way round and off I go. lens change time, reverse procedure. If I'm using a lens with a bucket cap (Sigma 8mm and 12-24, I may put the cap back in the slot in the bag that the lens has just come out of, although both those caps do fit in a fleece pocket (not much use if it's too warm for a fleece though!)

9 times out of 10 ill have my lens hood on and no cap anyway, caps are usualy in my bag or pocket.
