Ok, so my wife has very kindly booked me a place on a week long wildlife trip up in Scotland and I am wondering about what lenses to take. I am not very proficient at wildlife photography (yet), so I am looking for some advice on which essential bits of kit to take, but to try and minimise the weight I am lugging about in the hills.

I have the choice of the following bodies in my arsenal;
Z6, D810, D610, D7200

Lenses
I already have the Tamron 70-200 G2 and the Bigma 150-600mm. I have got all the wide lenses to choose from, but I am after advice re the longer end if possible.

The Z6 will be coming regardless as I plan on doing a bit of video too, but I am wondering if I should treat myself (or hire) a long lens (maybe a prime) which will give me the most cost effective bang for my relatively limited budget.

So, which of the bodies would come as backup and which long lens should I be looking for if you were packing my camera bag?

Thanks in advance.

I would say the 150-600 is a must - reach is all important. I guess you could hire a lens but 7 days will be £250-£400+ for a good prime or zoom like the 500mm or 180-400mm.

I would think reach is all important (airshows for me). Would probably take the D810 too for IQ.

I'd choose the 810, the 610 as a back up and the 150-600; that's what I'm using now (plus a 1.4 TC in good light).

Works well enough for me (for now). :)

D810 and 150-600mm.
