what on earth do we pay license fees for when the BBC has a program made entirely of Lenny Henry introducing clips downloaded off youtube!!
I can bloody download them myself for free!
Hardly worth having a HD tv for either!

Because other wise you would have it hosted by someone like Richard Littlejohn on Channel 5! and to be honest if I dont have to watch him or adverts then I am happy!

Plus they aint forcing you to watch it There are about 4 other BBC channels and a fair few radio stations

....you probably wont have to worry much longer anyway, seems it could be all over in the near future.

And local IT centres, buses. The BBC do provide a fair bit of stuff that isn't *just* TV

i just checked out bbc.co.uk and you guys are right!! there is a BBC2, BBC3, BBC4 too!!!
thanks for letting me know.. I also checked the manual for the TV and you can actually watch other channels too!

but being more serious now, in order to keep the license fee the BBC is supposed to broadcast television of a certain quality. Crappy, blocky, low resolution clips of peoples cats sneezing taken on a phone camera and downloaded from youtube doesnt fall into that category IMHO

I watched HD tv for the very first time yesterday, the picture quality was superb! you see every detail in Jack Lemons face in that film he made some fifty years ago...
