I’ve finally come over from the dark side. Literally!

I had a set of studio heads from a reputable British manufacturer that have got progressively more unreliable over the last 18 months. It had got to the point where I could shoot no more than 5 shots a minute for only 15 minutes before they overheated and cut out. They would then take 10 minutes to reset only to then have an even shorter time before overheating again.

In all fairness to the company they did send me a replacement set a month ago, but these were just as bad!

So last week they arranged for the shop I’d purchased them from to give me a full refund.

So I have now purchased a complete 3 head set up from Lencarta.
And the main reason for this post? To say a HUGE thank you to Garry Edwards for sorting me out some amazing kit in such a short time as to have no down time in the studio. Garry, you’re a star!

Having used the new lights solidly for two days proves that I should have bought these in the first place 18 months ago!

Whilst the lights I had were terrible, the customer service side was fantastic arranging first an exchange, then a complete refund on 18 month old gear. I'd rather not name them on a public forum as I wouldn't want to damage their business!

Okay I understand. It's just that maybe people might want to know and when you say 'British manufacturer' folks will start guessing. Even though there are no British manufacturers - all the British brands are made in China.

Yeah, I should clarify, a British company that imports the lights! Anyone who wants the full details is more than welcome to PM me, I just don't want a huge debate on here that is then public via google etc.
The company in question makes some fantastic gear and I wouldn't want one bad product getting blown out of proportion and damaging them further.
