Just a quick who's going?

I'm really looking forward to this, will be an early start for a sunday but I'm sure its going to be an eye opener of a class.

Has anyone been before, I' just wondering if there is anything in the area to get a sandwich or something at lunch time? I'm one of these who would pass out if i didnt eat throughout the day

Aimed to increase your knowledge and decrease your bank account! ............ Don't buy too much, but have a great time. I would have gone but for the distance.

Chris,

There's a Co-op literally next door, if (like me) you're diabetic and so NEED to eat you might want to get sandwiches when you first arrive, in case they sell out.
There's also a sandwich shop 50 yards along the road, but don't know whether they're open on Sundays or not.

Malcolm, the only things people are likely to buy is sandwiches. It's not a Anne Summers party:)

Have a good day all. That Garry bloke knows loads!!! :)

Hi Garry,

I think she (Ann Summers) is booked elsewhere on that day!

Just the thought that the more knowledge we gain, the more we want (need) to spend on appropriate equipment and lighting. Will try to make one of your renounded training sessions sometime.

Cheers
Malcolm

It would be an idea though Garry, to have stuff available to buy on the day. Bet you'd get some sales... Business is business at the end of the day and it'd save the buyer having to wait for postage.

Hi Chris,

How did you get on at the Lencarta Training today? Would love to know all about it.

Malcolm

I'll write a bit more when I get time but in a nutshell it was fantastic. Its definately boosted my learning curve. Very informative, practicle, not rushed. Any Cassie McDowell is a really patient and down to earth model...not to metion gorgeous!

I'll definately look at booking the nude course when spaces come available.

Hi Chris,

pleased you obtained the additional knowledge that I thought you would from earlier comments about Garry's training in earlier courses. I really need to make the trip myself sometime.

If you are going on the nude course, checkout the Nude & Glamour section and Phil Hackett (philthejuggler). He posted on the 3rd October ( Few of Venise) and the lighting on shot #3 in my opinion is superb. He is also a very helpful and friendly guy that I have spoken with and he has helped me with advice.

I look forward to hearing more from you and seeing some shots if you have them.

Cheers

Malcolm

It was nice to meet you Chris, and others on the day. I had done the nude portrait day previously but there is so much to take in that, having bought more kit I decided to book all three and just double up on that one.

For anyone else,

The courses are very worthwhile and Garry doesn't stuff Lencarta down your throat during the day. He mentioned at the beginning that they sponsor the day but that is about it. The people on the course mention Lencarta far more as they ask questions whilst they have the expert on hand.

Overall an utterly worthwhile day out and like I've said over and over:

£400 kit + £30 training > £800 kit with no training :bonk:

very worthwhile i have learnt alot. gary is awesome and answered all of the questions thrown at him about all types of kit.

The day was even flexible enough that Garry was able to show us how to use the Lencarta ring flash which was very useful.

Glad it went well Darren - will you be posting any samples from the day? Did Melissa enjoy herself?

Donald

I am half way through creating the post now :)

Will post a link shortly

OK, rather than several threads I have started one off for the images:
