Ahh...

Thanks for you help this morning gary, so when i get this hotshoe i have ordered will everything be straight forward to use the flash kit ??
Should be. And if it isn't you've got my phone number:'(

I hope some of you lot can answer my questions. I have read the Amateur Photographer review and it is indeed very complimentary. I too like Garry tend to agree that this publication tends to be more "accurate" than a few others.

My main concern is over spares and repairs. If the the main company goes bust can I still get parts. The modelling lamp I guess no problem but what about the flash element?

I note that the radio trigger is run through the mains socket. Is there an alternative socket and if not are these sort of triggers easily available from other sources.

I am tempted even though Im skint - might have to sell a few bits of kit first. Garry I might be paying you a visit if that is okay - Im off work for two weeks from April 3rd.

Cheers

Simon

ps still new to this forum stuff but thanks so far to the support and comments on my pics etc all good stuff

Blue Dimensions (owners of the Lencarta brand) is financially secure, growing steadily with very healthy sales growth, not much risk of being unable to get parts. In addition, has been trading for nearly 10 years now.

As you say, the modelling lamp is easily obtained. It's the standard Edison screw fitting, plenty available from Halostar and others.

Flash tubes? Made in Germany, again readily available. Not that you're ever likely to need one unless you physically break it (or have an ex assistant like mine who walks into a lighting stand and then just stands there watching it crash to the ground).

Radio trigger? Yes, it plugs into the flash head and the mains lead plugs into it. An ideal arrangement because it's working on mains voltage, very reliable and very simple. But you can use literally any radio trigger instead if you want to, if you don't want to use the one supplied you just plug the mains lead into the head instead of into the radio trigger.

A visit to my studio will be fine. Just PM or ring me to make arrangements because, as a photographer, I'm obviously not always available

Business Link delivered mine I think??

It's Business Post. Generally reliable but not always...

Sorry yeah it was Business Post, getting them slightly mixed up with Sh***y Link!!

To be fair they are not a bad courier, we use them ourselves in work. Of course they will have problems but tell me a courier who doesnt. Dont think you will ever get a fantastic service from a courier unless you pay top top dollar!!!!
