Was scheduled to visit Garry and "kick the tyres", but transport let me down
So I bit the bullet and placed an order anyway

now getting impatient - itching to have a go :)

I know the feeling! I've just had an email saying that my order from lencarta has been sent today :)

It's been selling faster than expected, probably only a few days of ElitePro stock left and then it will be out of stock until the next delivery arrives next month - and the prices are going to have to go up when the new stock comes in because of the collapse of the £:'(

Don't know how much the increase will be yet, I understand that they're going to absorb as much as possible.
So yes, this is a good time to buy

Edit: Oops - quoted the wrong post again. Meant to quote
Out of stock? Should I put my order in now?

Garry

Everything is in stock at the mo, order before 12 noon for next day delivery, no deliveries at weekends (doesn't always work that well but it usually does)
Once the ElitePro heads are sold out it will probably be mid-late April before new stocks arrive

so 5 o'clock Friday counts as a Monday order - so arrive Tuesday

All paid for :woot:

I have to say though its a shame having to pay for post when your spending that much money in the first place.

Garry, is it your firm that sells Lencarta?

I ordered mine late Tuesday night and they were delivered Friday morning, so not bad at all.
I just give them their first run out on a little studio shoot I had arranged today and initial impressions are very good....only problem is the pillock using them and knowing where to put them, but apart from that they are a good bit of kit. I ordered the 3 light kit and I am so glad I did because, I may even get a 4th light for hitting the background with because when I used my kit with my one of my mates lights it looked great, the colours were vivid and strong.

So all in all I would recommend the kit no problem.

Wish it was...

I'm their techie, photographer, customer service maestro - all fitted in around my 'real' job as a photographer.

I did think I had a problem with my new kit today but then worked it out.

Using the reflective umbrella on a slave light and the slave wasn't going off.

After much messing about I realised that the difference between the output from the model light and from the main light going off wasn't enough for the sensor to trigger the slave. Solution - stick a bit of card between the sensor and the umbrella - works perfect now

like paulmack has, I think I should have ordered a 3rd light, but my main problem is also the pillock using the lights!

just had an email
the kit has started its long trek south!

:nuts::nuts::nuts:

crikey - postie must be on steroids
quarter to eight this morning
bang bang bang on door

loadsa parcels - I have a lighting kit :woot:

now about that spare time I ordered...

not half bad though - ordered 5 o'clock Friday evening - delivered before 8 o'clock Tuesday morning

I think the postie had attempted to deliver mine yesterday, but i'm at work till thursday night. Hope they leave it with a neighbour today!

Most of the problems are with deliveries.
The others are usually the useless techie support guy:lol:

Who does the deleveries?

I can't remember who tried to deliver mine, but they left a card on monday saying that they would re-deliver on tuesday evening. My wife would have been in to take the delivery, however they turned up at 9.20 in the morning. Going to have to pick it up from the delivery office on friday.

It's Business Post. Generally reliable but not always...

Still waiting :( ordered Sat, the day is still young.
No email saying they have been shipped though does everybody get this?

:woot:

I visited Garry yesterday to look at the safari gen pack and heads, along with the ringflash. Got to say its very well made and excellent value. Thanks for taking the time to answer questions Garry. I will be placing my order next week.

Cheers,

Mart.

You must be the guy who rang me this morning... Unfortunately your camera needs a hotshoe adapter to work with any accessories except Minolta/Sony.
A workaround (which I don't personally like but it's doable) is to use the built in flash or a hotshoe flash to trigger the Lencarta flash. If doing that, cover up as much of the flash as possible while still leaving enough to trigger the studio flash, so that the minimimum of unwanted light is present to affect the shot.
