Forgive me for not finding it in search, but does anyone know (on a Sunday) if you can spec up your own kits from Lencarta?

I'm sure I read it a post a few months back but i'm get old now and my memory plays tricks with me....
I know its a question that's been asked many times, does the Lencarta stuff still offer more than other brands for at mid range level? I was looking towards a twin head setup using elite 300's, a large octobox and an umbrella.

We have twins due in about 4 weeks and I wanted to start using a slight lack of talent along with a large bag of equipment to make the most of their arrival.... So a good home studio was the next step along to make this happen.

Any thoughts?

I am fairly sure you used to be able to do this, so not sure if it's changed or not, however i'm sure if you have a word with Garry Edwards on here, who works for their customer service, he will be able to sort you out a good deal :)

You can.

The theory is that the website should allow people to change componants, but the person responsible for that hasn't done it yet, so the only way of specifying a special kit is to:
1. Buy the kit nearest to what you want
2. Add any required items that aren't in that kit
3. Send me an email (support@) telling me which bits you don't want (e.g... don't include the silver umbrella)

I then give you an immediate refund for the bits you don't want and tell the warehouse not to send them. You therefore get what you do want and benefit from the kit discount.

I knew you'd be around somewhere Garry.....

I was going to speak to you directly tomorrow but I always get impatient when the wife allows me to spend money - just in case she changes her mind! If only camera's where like shoes - i'd of bought Canon out by now!

Anyway - i'll put an order in now and hopefully, Garry, your way of doing it will work.

Any of those Yorkshire discount codes going spare? ;)

Thanks to Garry yet again

Kit turned up next day and refund for the bits I didn't need appeared bank in my account today. Some good bits of kit by the quick bit of use I've had so far - even the wife said there was a lot for the money ( which I may of slightly mislead her about!! )

As I own no Lencarta kit even I am impressed with this..

Honestly..... Buy one now! I'm no huge expert on this type of kit yet but that doesn't stop you knowing what is good and what's not.

Commission cheque in the post to the usual address please:naughty:

I have 5 lights from another manufacturer in my small studio that I'm very happy with .. Not sure if I have space for more... - but there's always the future..

Keeping it simple is one thing...... Lots of big shiny flashing things with buttons and beeps is totally another! It's the small child in all of us - least that's my excuse when I order new stuff anyway!

Garry does this also work if I want to remove half of a bundle? I'm interested in getting one flash + stand + soft box but you don't do deals on one light. Do I purchase a 2 light kit and remove half of the items or do you not offer a bundle price for just 1 light?

Thanks
Mike

Mike,
Sorry, can't do that. To benefit from the kit price, you have to buy a kit. Swapping bits doesn't stop it being a kit, but removing half of it does.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I will be looking to buy in the next few months - just wondered if there was any discount :-)
