Hi all,

I currently have 2 Bowens Gemini 200 lights in the studio which do me fine but am looking at least another light, with a view to being able to take them on location in the future.

Got my eye on a Lencarta kit on eBay going for about £500, wondering if you thought it would be worth a punt and whether it would work with my existing Bowens gear?

1 x Len Carta ElitePro 300 mains flash
2x Len Carta SmartFlash 200 compact flash head with reflectors
3x Len Carta 2.6m Spring Damped Lighting Stands
1x Len Carta WaveSync DC Remote Flash Trigger
2x Len Carta 60 x 60cm (24 x 24") Square Softbox With Speedrings
2x Len Carta Background Reflectors
2x honeycombs for standard reflectors
1x Len Carta Pro White Reflective Umbrella
1x Len Carta 80cm (32") Pop Up 5-in-1 Reflector
1x Len Carta background support system upto 3m wide
1x 3x6m white heavy duty backdrop
1x Len Carta 3-Head Location Soft carry Bag
1x Len Carta Universal Stand Holdall
1x Sekonic flasmate l-308s light meter
1x proffesional photographers black storage trunk
1x Interfit Black/White 1.5x2m Pop Up Background D/Sided
1x 50CM Photo Soft Light Box Tent Cube + 4 Colour Backdrop

Figured I'd use the 300W flash in the studio ond the others on location, flog the Sekonic as I already have one meaning the rest of it would cost me about £410?

Worth it?

I find lencarta to be cracking stuff. Certainly looks good value and would recommend it to anyone.

That seems like a cracking deal

I've only recently bought my first Lencarta kit (1 light Safari kit) so I'm sure more experienced users will be along in due course, but I've been absolutely delighted with the gear so far...

It's good quality gear and used by a great many on here. It'll slot in easily with any other gear you have with the S type fittings too.

I borrowed a set of lencarta lights off a mate before I picked up some bowens. They're cracking for the price.

Lencarta is good quality reliable gear, and very good value. It will work fine as you describe.

Whether or not that large pile of stuff you've listed is the ideal choice for you is another question, but luckily enough Garry Edwards is a contributor on here who works for Lencarta. If he doesn't spot this thread, seek him out and either drop him a PM or give him a call

Good price you rekon then?
Yes, it's very good value at that price, assuming it's all as stated. Warranties aren't transferable of course, but you won't be taking much of a risk, the failure rate is very, very low.

Some of the prices quoted on the Ebay listing are off though, because a lot of the prices have been cut. You might want to check the actual prices on the website
