Leica now sell stationery...

My my, there are some distasteful posts in this thread... "Leica lave lost the plot", "idiots buy who buy this tat", and "knobs that buy them have lost the plot"

IMO there are posters here who need to take a long hard look at themselves, live and let live and maybe grow up a bit too. All in all it's pretty distasteful viewing and perhaps better suited to other forums than here. What the hell is wrong with (some of) you?

It's a company selling branded products not baby eating Nazis and if you don't want to partake in the words of the song... "get out the way and let the gentleman do his thing..."

And with that advice offered... I'll happily leave...

Woah, try not to take it too seriously!

Does this mean that nobody owns (or should own) a camera just for the pleasure of ownership... or how it looks, sounds... etc?

They all look pretty much the same, and they go click... but if that's your thing... sure: I wouldn't mind if that's why they bought them, no.

I could ask the same of someone who spends a three figure sum on a pen :)

Spend your cash on whatever you want... you earned it. You'd still be a fool. You may be a happy fool, and pleased with your purchase... but still a fool :)

Are you saying that anyone who buys a Leica is a knob?

I was mainly referring to anyone who buys a Leica pen however, but now you mention it, If they think they're going to get better images as a result, yes. If they are just happy to pay a premium to sit there gazing adoringly at it because they think it;s beautiful then that's up to them.

Indeed - not least those who take things far too seriously and try to start an argument where none exists

The Leica pens seem good value for someone in the market of a DuPont pen. Me, I prefer the unbranded version even though it is more expensive. Or even better, pop my own logo on it and make it a business expense :)

I just use whatever pen is on my desk, so long as it writes. It doesn't make my words any more, or less eloquent. That comes from me, not the pen.
