I have just had my Leica IIIa repaired, to quote, "best as possible". Apparently the 'main bearings' are in really bad condition and the camera can no longer shoot at 1/1000.

Does anyone know anything about this? Whether I can get it fixed, as apparently they can't and they're a Leica specialist!
 
Where did you have it done Joe. I used Newton Ellis in Liverpool to get II serviced and I believe a lot of the Leica crowd rate them very highly.

Red dot cameras in London are pretty reputable.
 
I got it done at Red Dot :/ Surely it's just a matter of replacing the bearings?
