''Legendary'' DSLRs

Ah, 350 must have been the first affordable for me...I was totally skint when the 300 came out.

I'd agree, 350D and Nikon D50; I remember it being a really close call and went for the D50 back then due to it having a slightly better screen and exhibiting slightly sharper images than the Canon. Both excellent models though. Makes me want to go and get one of these for old times sake.

D700 would get my vote, it was a revelation for me and it still holds its own.

Not a DSLR but I'd also give a nod towards my Sony RX1 which still blows my mind on a regular basis despite its flaws.

Bought a 350D a few weeks ago just throw in my bag,£60 only about 14000 clicks on it,very capable camera even by today's standards.

Very good price. May well get one next month - been an expensive one this month with car insurance due.

My Fuji S2 pro still takes amazing images and is a classic but the Fuji S3 and S5 are also legendary in the world of digital DSLR's in my opinion, using film bodies for digital. :)

Only the S3 used a film body, (F80 - you can even see the outline of the film door!) The S5 is a D200. But yes, they are deservingly legendary. I only wish Fuji had brought the Super CCD SR sensor up to date and used it in the X series, the X-Trans is good but S3/S5 colour, tone and dynamic range is still unparalleled in APSC.

D40 got me into DSLRs so possibly that, the D300 was an excellent camera and nowavailable for peanuts, but the D700 is the one I would pick as its ISO blew everything at the time.

I always thought that the S2 and S3 used the Nikon F80 body and the Fuji S1 used the F60 body...pretty sure, but still legendary :)

I still have a 350d, and it's a great camera. Bought it brand new for about £700, must be 11 years ago now. Plenty capable, and excellent value for new photographers now. Though it was really just a minor upgrade of the 300d, wasn't it - so I think the prize would have to go to that.
