Been in agony for a few days where I have ripped a tendon in my upper back/shoulder, went to the hospital on Wednesday and was given Naproxen but had to go back this afternoon as after 3 days with no sleep and the pain worse than ever, they have now given me Diazepam and codeine
So now I'm high but still in pain  :gag: :(

Ouch, i can totally relate to the pain, i suffer with prolapse discs and have been on diazepam a few times.

Soo depressing, have not been able to do anything this week
Sorry to hear of your pain

Well after 6 weeks of the worst pain I have ever had, and F ups by one doctor, I have finally been diagnosed with a collapsed vertebrae pinching a nerve, not a ripped tendon, may have to have an op sometime in the new year
Only good thing is they have given me painkillers that do now have some effect

Just be careful not to do any more damage while you can't feel yourself doing it.

Hope the end is in sight - tends to be the diagnosis that takes the time, an op is (hopefully) relatively simple mechanics. Hell, if they could clean up just a bit of my brane, they can do pretty much anything!

!

That - I knackered my ankle last year while training for the grizzly - taking pain killers and carrying on running on it wasn't my best idea , as the damage was/is significantly worse than it would have been.

Been there.. Done that, have the big scars to prove it! Had a double diseconomy, and spinal fusion at L4/5- S1 in Jan 2011. Still hurts like buggery now though :(

Diazepam is your friend!

Thanks guys, sorry for your pain Tom and Peter
They called it a C6
Diazepam is limited to just one a day. just won't give me anymore at a time so having to do with Tramadol and Naproxen, half stoned and about half the pain, so a bit of relief
Hoping for a full nights sleep, not had one of them for weeks.

THC is supposed to work well on back injuries - according to my mate who has a prolapsed disc. Of course you probably can't get it on the NHS (they seem to only prescribe it for terminal MS ) but you may be able to get it privately ( I mean through private medicine, I'm not suggesting you go out and score some skunk)

They won't give you more than 1 a day? There's a box of 30 in our bathroom if you want some :D

Diazepam will do you wonders, super sleepy time. Better than morphine and other opiates.

Send they over Neil

H, I feel for you, had nearly 3 months off the end of last year due to a slipped disc, wasn't bad enough for an operation but lost the use of my leg and bladder for a while. I know the passion killers seem like a life line but just be careful, the worst for me was when I stopped all the medication I was on, had a really rough week or so, total cold turkey. Hope it's sorted soon and you stay to feel better.

Get well soon fellow TP user.

Forget the pain killers, go to Amsterdam for a week.

I expect they're in the cupboard where they normally sit.

;)

Sorry to take the mick - the fact you can type at all is pretty good! Had codeine a few times, and it does odd things to stop me talking or writing intelligibly. Hope you recover quickly & fully.

Doh! is me. it's the drugs don't ya know ;)

Sing.....Tramadol and Naproxen and red wine is wonderful ... hic :p

I feel for you.

For one reason or another I've had my fair share of pain and meds both prescribed and not.

You can do a lot legally as long as you don't have too much to go around lol

Helen, I know the Opiates can have a slowing effect on the bowls, something like Fybogel can help maintain regularity if it gets to be a problem. Can't really advocate the use of illegal pharmaceuticals but I did find that Pete's suggestion worked a few years ago after a fairly painful procedure.

I once did two weeks........................I think...................:)

:lol: your lucky you still know where you live after 2 weeks in Amsterdam

Well I managed to pass out around 2am, no hangover but Ouch elsewhere and no red wine left :(
My friend Karen is still sleeping, the cow!
Thanks for the tip about bowls

H

Time to get smashed again... only way of getting some sleep
