Yes
Ive just noticed something, i do everything right handed/footed, my left side is pretty useless tbh, but i do shooting with my Left eye.

I was wondering is this common? Which eye do you shoot with?

I use the left, but mainly because the right eye is the lazy eye and has quite a lot of suppression going on - if I stuck my right eye to the viewfinder, I'd see nothing through it. :lol:

Then again, I'm not particularly left or right dominant.

Completely an utterly right-sided.

i think the reason i do it, is because my hand then blocks out alot of the light to my right out, so its easier to seeing down the viewfinder.

i never thought doing something right sided would feel so unnatural.

I'm left handed but right eye dominant.....

I eat right handed, and shoot right handed, and yet I play squash, shoot a bow left handed. And yet I photograph right handed.......

I wondered how long it'd be before the double-entendres were coming out. Wasn't disappointed - 8 posts - good work! High Five!

i have tried both but i feel most comfortable with the right.

:thinking: My centre one - as I'm a cyclops.. :coat: :exit:

Haven't really thought about it really... would no-doubt be my right eye, as if it was my left then I'd be smoothering the LCD screen with the snot from my nostrils :$ :puke:

Left eye, but primarily because the right eye doesn't work too well !

Right handed, left eyed. Oh, and I put telphones to my left ear as well.

Left handed although I play instruments and do a few other things right handed, left eye dominant but I use my right eye with my cameras.

Right and right. Did you know you can retrain yourself to be XXX eye dominant?

When I first learnt to shoot clay pigeons I found I was left eye dominant, whilst holding the gun right handed (obviously not very conducive to hitting much). Easily re-trained myself to be right eye dominant and been that way ever since.

That's pretty interesting that you can retrain eye dominance.

Had a convo at work with someone who did an eye dominance test and it was only then I realized it was that eye I used for my camera.... Right handed but left eye.

Coming to think about it - after reading most replies & re-reading the original post...

I must be the only one that actually shoots with my right fore-finger - as it aint arf hard to shoot/press the shutter button with my right eye :$

I am left handed, but right eye dominant. But I think that's because i can't close my right eye! I have never been able to wink with the right eye!

I'm right handed, but use my left eye, for one simple reason.

I can close my right eye by winking, but not my left, so I can't use my right clearly.

I'm right handed and right eyed, but I shoot with my left eye.

I started shooting with my right, but after a while I found out that if you shoot with your left you can wedge the camera into your left shoulder for extra stability on the lower shutterspeed shots.

Am now a convert :)

Left eye to view.

Left handed but do allsorts with the right too :shrug:..... no euphemisms ;) e.g.

Left:
writing
throwing
racquet sports
holding a chocolate bar!
holding the phone

Right:
using cutlery
using a mouse
sharpening a pencil
cutting
sawing
playing snooker/pool
using the remote control

oh and kicking I use both feet.... as every overpaid footballer should be able to!

.... and for my party trick (given I write with my left hand) is writing with both hands at the same time in opposite directions so with my natural hand I write backwards and with the other I write normally.... yep... I'm wierd!! :cuckoo:

Now that I have to see!

Right handed, use my right for camera, writing, everything except dj' ing, when I will use my left ear to monitor on headphones.

However try this see how strange it is (might just be me lol)

On a private road, with no other road users, swap feet and use your clutch foot (left) to operated the accelerator and brake :D

(i suppose I better say for legal reasons, I only read that on a website, have never done it, don't want you to do it and if you do its your responsibility)

I'm left handed but I use my right eye to look through the viewfinder - but then again my left eye is slightly inferior vision-wise (but I don't wear glasses).

I normally use the right eye for photo taking, it seems random though as I have used the left. I have never really thought about it this hard before

edit- now I try it the left eye feels weird to use

Ditto.

I'm left handed and use my left eye.

I eat right handed, play golf right handed but am left handed when I play racket games or pool/snooker!

I have been told that if you're left handed you can do mirror writing easily - which I can!!
