weekly Leebert's 52 in 2016. Week 15 Horizontal.

Hi Lee ....I love Snowdonia ....definitely a place to be happy ....a lovely shot.
It's the Abandoned typewriter for me because it's such a unique choice for the theme, but having said that the inside of that car is excellent for the theme too.

Nice set so far, liking the owl very nice, old computer for me on the abandoned theme.

Liking the comuter scene for abandoned best. Works so well the lighting makes it!

Gaz

Captive - love the image and think the tight crop works well with the theme - nice and sharp around the eye too

Miniature - very clever in terms of interpretation and skill to carry it off !

Happy - you both certainly look happy and why not ! lovely backdrop too :)

Abandoned - nice selection ,but i really like the interest in the internal shot of the car - wonderful !

Hi Lee.
What can I say, you're got some great shots so far.
The back story to the Vulcan blade is fascinating, so thanks for filling it in.
Love the miniature shot the most though. Very very well executed.

Nice find for the two abandoned cars. Good composition and the colour works well in the first one.

There's a secret bunker in Scotland and we always chuckle when we drive past the signs :)

Nice, subtle lighting and well exposed.

Cheers.

I'm liking the bunker computer, tells its own story! (y)

Happy - ticks all the boxes, well done

Abandoned - computer for me, like the cold-war spy thriller lighting

I like the car interior best for 'abandoned' - there's a nice similarity between the braches outside the car and the springs in the back of the seats which gives the impression the car is becoming pat of its surroundings.

Hi, nice Happy shot, as for abandoned I like the computer shot its a little different from the normal this week and the lighting works really well

Hi Lee :)

Happy - Nice image, good to see composition with you guys not obscuring the cracking view :D - nice photo that :)

Abandoned - Hmmmm a few to choose from

Okay... love the old electronics in the first shot, really liking the low light in it too picking up the map in the background also adds real good interest for me, so my pick of the bunch (y)

Hi Lee,

really like your Happy picture, super poses and a nice background, i prefer the 3rd Abandoned image,

Hi Lee

Happy - Lovely shot a very happy scene

Abandoned - Both great subjects but I prefer the truck due to how dilapidated it looks

Nice catch up Lee

Is that what is called an oxymoron? :D
Nice image well taken, but the burnt out car interior is my favourite, nicely processed (y)

I really like your secret bunker shot - the lighting makes it so atmospheric.

Hi all.
Thank you so much for taking the time to look around and for all your great comments (y)
Apologies my 2016 52 project has been a bit in fits and starts and commenting on others has been a bit thin on the ground - night shift work has taken it's toll somewhat :( Normal service will hopefully be resumed once I am back on days :)

Week 6 - Camouflage.

Eagle eyed Mrs Leebert saw something move out of the corner of her eye during a drive home today. We stopped and she then spent what seemed like ages explaining where it was. It took me a surprising amount of time to spot as it was that well camouflaged...

Abandoned - I want to prefer the computer shot, there is so much to look at, but actually I prefer the interior of the car. The blue of the seat frames is a fantastic colour and whilst the whole picture is busy, they subtly stand out.

Camouflaged, it certainly is! I guess it's the little thing bottom right?

Is it the dark building in the midground, left?

Hi Lee

Camouflaged - what a brilliantly opportunistic shot and spot on for the theme, whatever it is!

Loking back through the thread, I hadn't seen your owl photo until now. Very nice indeed.

I can't make it out either - Mrs. L must be eagle-eyed to have spotted that. Well themed doubly over if you also count the roof of that building too.

Hi, its a rabbit I think well positioned in the frame it makes you look around

I can't work out what it is Lee ....is it a little dog ....or should I go to Specsavers :)

Cannot see it its that well camouflaged

Well spotted....I wanted a closer crop but that'd spoil it.

Cheers.

Thank you all for taking the time to comment. Some good spots there (y) It is a Hare in the very lower right of the image. I deliberately uploaded it at a lower than normal resolution as a cheeky test ;)

Holy cra.....cow!!!

No WAY would I have spotted that!
Mind you, clear as day now you've pointed it out.................. ;)

Well if you hadn't of said I'd still have been looking great timing and most defiantly on theme

Happy - a very pleasing image, and you both look happy so works for me.

Abandoned - a few to choose from, not to sure on what stands out for me the most.

Camouflage - well that certainly was a tricky one lol, took me a moment to spot the little dog........ I assume it's a dog:thinking: and that's with my glasses on . A good fitting image for the theme, very well done to Mrs Leebert for spotting it.

Nice image overall for camouflaged, tricky to spot the hare. Perfect

Catching up sorry

Captive - wow great picture I love the detail of the feathers and the reflection in the eye.
Happy - right on theme beautiful scenery too
Abandoned I like the interior car picture best it
Camouflage - took a while but I found the hare

Camouflage: definitely on theme and well spotted and taken before he/she ran away. I think as an image it could be stronger - but you know that, I'm sure - however, you've processed it well to bring out the sky.

Happy - Nice photo of you both. The light on the hills in the background is lovely, looks a beautiful place to be.
Abandoned - My favourite would be the shot from the bunker. Really like the lighting in it.
Camouflage - spotted it in the corner but wouldn't have worked out what it was.

Thank you. You are correct - it was a bit of a grab shot really.

Week 7 - Danger (everywhere).

Taken whilst at work in Notting Hill Gate London Underground substation. This is one of the 11KV transformers. There are a surprising number of these buildings around the underground network each covering a short section of track. The substation is responsible for feeding London Underground trains between (approximately) South Kensington and Paddington. That area is divided into four 'sections' with each section handling around 3000 amps at 630 volts each at peaks. That's approximately the same as 2500 kettles worth

It does look quite a powerhouse of a place and reading your narrative, it clearly is not a place for the uninitiated. Surprisingly neat and clean though. Very Dangerous place. Well chosen Lee.

Not a shot that is going to be available to most of us and def on theme.
It could do with a little warping of the bottom RH corner to level the brickwork (imo) though you'd have to be careful to to ruin the vertical verticals.

It's odd isn't it how something so innocuous looking can be so lethal?
Good choice Lee.

Definitely dangerous and well structured shot - I like the composition, POV etc. It does feel slightly distorted but that could be tweaked in post perhaps? Lighting feels suitably industrial (which I'm sure it was)! Could be a candidate for a gritty mono conversion perhaps, as well - ultra high contrast?

Nice shot, i also work with these transformers on the railway :)

Hiya Lee, that's some power that transformer can draw. really dangerous. Not seen any near my signal box, thank goodness

Very true with your danger shot Lee, warning signs everywhere, work especially, there are a few trip hazards there too that could do with reflective yellow edges :D

Danger - fits the theme very well, lots of danger signs to be seen.

nice take and no graffiti;),
certainly fits,

Camo - uploaded smaller res - you b****r ! :D - took me some time to spot it but great interpretation

Dangerous - very very dangerous - would get me too close to it !

Danger - definitely on theme

Thank you all very much for taking the time to comment. I must apologise for being not replying sooner. Project pressures and night shifts at work have taken the edge off getting involved in the 52 for a while. Whilst the project is still mad busy I am at least back on normal days in the office so I should have more time to give some much overdue comments and dust the camera off!

A bit of a photo-a-thon over the Easter break means I've almost caught up!
