Well i have been sorting a Lee kit out for a friend on a tight budget for the last week or so & have just stumbled across an ebay seller from china selling Lee compatible filter holders for around £28, i Think this is a very fair price indeed compared to the genuine Lee version, Furthermore they also have Lee compatible wide angle filter rings for around £8.50 each which i think is well worth the money compared to the £40 Genuine Lee offerings that are on the market, Anyway i hope this info is useful to some of you out there as i know many are on tight budgets & the ebay seller i found to be selling them can be found here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/hody_came...t=0&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_nkw=lee&_sop=15
 
The only thing I would say about these is, watch out for inferior thread quality and jamming onto the lens threads.

Not these specifically no, just a general thing to look for with this type of after market products and the threads being so fine.

I've seen some of the cheaper filters and holders and even some of the not so cheaper ones suffer from this.

Well the 3 i ordered on behalf of a friend arrived today & they are all metal construction & even seem slightly lighter in weight, i have measured his 77mm against my 77mm w.a. & also his 82mm against my 82mm w.a. on the same lenses side by side & both are exactly the same in height depth etc.. i am now also going to sell my genuine lee ones & buy some of these substitutes, i am more than pleased with the quality of his, so why not!

Glad it worked out for you.

Consider testing them out in the different temperature ranges you would normally shoot in and just make sure they don't stick on etc.

I tend to just leave my adapters on my lenses nowadays anyway and bought some cheap push-on lenscaps for them.

Me & my friend both use the White Lee clip on caps & leave the rings fitted anyhow so that wont be an issue, thanks!
 
I've ordered a 72mm wide angle to see what they're like, I've got the genuine Lee ones on my 24mm TS-E, 17-40 and 24-105 but currently only the normal 72mm on my 135mm which doesn't feel that well made compared to the wide angle rings.

I leave the adaptor rings on all the time, and use the white plastic Lee lens caps which are brilliant value, you can also write on the front so when I open my bag up I can quickly tell which lens is which when packed upright.
 
Having seen this thread earlier, I bought a 52 mm adapter which arrived yesterday. As with Dan it seems fine . I have a standard lee 77mm adapter for a sigma 10-20 which vignettes at 10mm end and having seen the 52mm one I immediately ordered the 77mm one for wide angle use on 10-20.

Seems good value.
