Morning everyone....

My lee gel filters arrived this morning the samples.. God there are loads. What the best way to fasten them to the flash?

Rookies, where did you get them from? I've been looking to get hold of some :)

Ordered them from Lee's Filters.. There a thread not far from here with the link where to get them from only took a week to get them

sticky tape them to it? Not sure with Lee filters, but I know the old rosco swatch books used to give you colour temp readings on it too.

They're great for the Sigma 15 -30mm lens

You get 2 filters from each swatch

The lens has a filter holder on the rear of the lens specifically for gels and I cant see any distortion when used

Is that, they will pay for the postage? Or, they will send the gels without having to pay for them?

I did that and they just arrived through the post about 4 days later no charge.

Great , I'm off to their site now.

Thanks for the head's up on this.

Just ordered some, somehow I feel slightly guilty, but hey if they want to send it to me free of charge then who am I to argue :)

Are you using the gels on the lens or the light?

If you are gelling lights, bulldog clips don't melt on the reflector! (Sticky tape goes all gooey, as does blue tack.) For small on camera flash then they don't get so hot (it is th emodelling lamp that gets the reflectors hot - and they do get HOT)

mine arrived this moring as well ordered at the same time! good service!

is there an easy way to get them outwithout destroying the whole thing?

Nope have to take that pin out to get them apart.. Have you read the website i posted above it tell you the best way to get them nicely made for your flash... I been trying to find some sour of case to store them in ..

Just read it mate and it will be something to do on sundady - all that taping is not gonig to be fun.:bang:

Just got mine yesterday and went out to a wind farm in the dark. I dont have a flashgun but tried them on my Fenix torch for light painting. Cant believe how well it works! I am addicted to this night time photography now :)

I got my Lee Filter samples today along with the lovely brochure.

Can't believe they're free either. Excellent!!

What I done..

Get an old cardboard box, like a cereal box.
Cut the lips of it of and throw them away
Measure the circumfrence of your flash (I presume your using hot shoe flash)
Cut out a strip of card that sized, and a few CM wide.
Tape the ends up and fit it on your flash.. adjust so its nice and tight on.
Cut a slit in each end of the card (stanley knife) thats just a bit wider that your flash gels and there you go..

Not the most good looking holder in the world but it does the job!

Regards, James

Care to show us a picture of what you done mate?

interesting ideas will have to think what is best for me!

According to Strobist Blog, Lee are going to be producing a sample book aimed at Togges, it will have only the filters/gels we need, and they will have no holes in them and will be a bit longer so are easier to fit to your flash. They will also come with duplicates of the most used. Now that is a good company that listens to it's user's.

Lovely jub! Read this thread, filled in the form and had mine delivered form a nearby supplier this morning! I live in Helsinki! Woo hoo!
