I am asking on behalf of a friend... He at the moment got Cokin Filter kit and is thinking of selling it all to get a Lee Kit. As he not happy with the way the poleriser works on the Cokin.. He said he believe the poleriser on the Lee filter kit is easier as it can be moved easier etc.

What he like to know If he ordered a Lee Kit and a Poleriser does he need anything else? Do the Poleriser fit on front of the Lee Holder without ordering anything else to make it fit?

he'll need an adaptor ring to make the holder fit his lens from memory - lenses with different diamaters need different adaptor rings

To use a polariser, you will need the 105mm filter adaptor ring. This is held on the front of the holder by four screws.
I recommend the Heliopan 105mm polariser - it's significantly cheaper than the Lee equivalent and Heliopan filters are some of the best you can buy.
Check out the Lee filters site for more info.

Cheers

Where the best place to purchase Lee Filters from at good price and also where do i find the Heliopan 105mm polariser

Hope you can help us out.

None of those sell the Heliopan 105mm polariser filter ....

since we're on the subject - how hard edged are the hard Lee grad filters? is soft reasonable?

I'd go with the hard-edged personally. I've been using a 1 stop and 2 stop ND grads for several years. I'm not sure how to describe how hard-edged they are.

I'm toying with the idea of trying out a soft-edged shortly, probably a 1.5 stop as a compromise.

I keep banging on about how it's not necessary to use a filter holder but I'm not sure anyone takes any notice! Just hold the filter gently but firmly against the rim of the lens (or your polariser) when you take the pic. It saves money buying extra stuff and there's fewer bits and bobs to fiddle with when you might need things in a hurry.

A had a heliopan Kaseman polariser a years ago but it gave a slight green colour cast

i'm not sure you can get much of a discount on Lee.
