Having seen some amazing landscape images lately, I got all excited and decided to spend a small fortune on Lee Filter system

So today I bought a set of ND grads, a big stopper and another ND filter from Dale photographic in Leeds. I could have ordered online but I decided to drive all the way from Manchester

I must say I was really pleased with the customer service and also managed to get a small discount

So if you looking to buy the lee big stopper or any other filter would definitely recommend and their price is the cheapest I could find online.

Bought my Lee filters from them, very happy with the service too

Hi
If you do`nt mind me asking what price did you pay as I`am looking to upgrade my cokin p system to the larger filter but car`nt make up between cokin z pro or lee and price plays a big part in it

You won't get much variation in the price of Lee filters anywhere, Dales were the same price as WEX which i've usually found to be very competitive

i got the big stopper for £149, the hard grad ND set for £169 and another soft grad for £60 (normally £80 )

And how have you found them if you`ve used them yet

Its good that they have stock, one of the few places that do have the big stopper. However it is at a 50% premium, Morco advertise these at £100, having said that, I've had an order for a big stopper with them for the last 6 months

I doubt you would get a new genuine lee big stopper for £100, they're sold out most of the time and hardly anyone offers any discount

I haven't yet had a chance to use em, waiting for some good weather and a day off to try em.

But I have only heard good things about lee filters
Quite recently I started using the B+w big stopper and was quite pleased with the results and hence decided to get the full kit with the graduated filters as well

Morco are genuine dealers, and £100 is the going price, look at Wex Photographic, Robert White, etc.

You are paying a 50% premium because Dale have them in stock, and they're taking advantage of market demand to bump up the price beyond RRP. Nothing wrong with that, as its market forces. But they are by no means the going price.

On the plus side, Dale are still cheaper than the eBay route, where these can sell for nearly £200

So really depends on how desperately you want the Big Stopper.

Actually, it looks like Dale Photographic are now out of stock for the big stopper.

i remember wex selling them earlier for around £150, no wonder they'd always be out of stock at those prices

Must've been a price blip, as I've always seen them at around £100 mark. With Wex you can pre-order and that is the price to be paid - its another question as to when they will get stock. Lee filter production is all by hand, apparently the big stopper is proving to be very popular, and harder to produce, hence why there's a massive shortage all over the world.

Unfortunately the alternative Hitech's filters do leave a colour cast (their manufacturing plant is up in the South Wales Valleys).

Anyhow, congrats on finding stock, and not having to pay eBay prices, like I've said, I've had an order in for the last 6-8months (can't remember when I ordered), and they still haven't had stock
