lee big stopper...rare than hens teeth!!

I ordered the Lee Big Stopper from Speedgraphic just over a week ago, it arrived in around 5 days despite the fact the site said they were waiting for stock.

Lucky? Perhaps. Drop them an email.

Regarding composing the picture and then fitting the filters - yes it can be tricky with the screw in type unless you have one of these:D

Best bit of kit I bought to go with my B&W 10 stopper - makes life even easier than using the square ones.
they come from America but mine came in about a week when I ordered it:)

I like the look of that....but b****r they are out of stock

That looks like a good idea - shame about lens caps though (the FAQ page says they won't fit the adapter http://www.xumeadapters.com/faqs.html).

When you get the basic kit, you get one lens adapter and two filter adapters so you could leave the magnet part on the lens, leave one filter adapter on the 10 stopper and the other on the lens cap. I did this but felt it best to fit the lens cap properly so I remove the system after every use

Thanks for the info Jules.

Just a thought - what about having two lens caps, one for normal use and the other permanently attached to the filter adapter for 10 stopper use.

I've had one on order since December! It's so long I can't even remember who with to cancel the order!
Thankfully I picked up one along with a foundation kit and rings for a stupid price. Once I sold the foundation kit and rings I think it worked out I got the 10 stopper for £20!

I do like that bit of kit. It would probably get me using the Cokin more as I find it such a pain to keep swapping filters...

I think this is true of the older style HiTech holders but when I picked my new style one up from the factory, the lady there said they were now compatible with the Lee ones without any problems.
Luckily I went to the factory the day they had the new holders in and managed to grab the first one before they even left the factory:D

Just following up on this. I tested out my Lee Big Stoppers on the new style plastic HiTech holders this week.

HiTech have solved the gap problem that was there before but it is still not completely leak free, which is pretty much essential. There are still gaps top and bottom.

I'm quite surprised by it to be honest.

Any ideas where i can pick one up...:bang:

Or would a very king TP member be willing to loan one out for a deposit of some kind.:D

Wanting to have aplay with these and cant seem to find one anywhere unless im being a div!:cuckoo:

I'm in the u.s. and called two of the big local camera stores today looking for one and they both did not have it. There seems to be plenty on ebay for around 220-250 u.s dollars.:|
