Hi All,

Not sure if this has been covered before, I've searched but not found the answer I was looking for (Maybe my search techniques are not that great).
Anyway, I've managed to get a Lee"Big Stopper", and although i've not had a great deal of practice with it yet, I'm finding i get a blueish case with my images.
What techniques do you fellow TP'ers use in PP to remove it (Step by Step please. I use Photoshop CS% quite badly), or, do you have a technique to stop it happening in the first place.
I'm using a canon 5DMK11, various lenses give the same colour cast.

Adjust your white balance.

Take a shot with your camera of a white card using the Lee filter and adjust your cameras white balance to get rid of the colour cast.

When you do find the posts you will get conflicting opinions.
There seems to be quite a bit of variation in the Lee Big Stopper colour cast and some people hardly have any while others are quite strong.

Mine also has a blue cast, which needs correction.
Providing the shot was taken in RAW is easy to fix using White Balance, either a custom WB in camera or back at home in PP.

As for the CS5 steps - sorry, I use Lightroom :)
But the steps should be similar.

Find a grey or white subject in any big stopper image.
Use the White Balance dropper to tell the computer it is supposed to be white - bingo!

If this setting works well (it really was white!), the write down the temp and tint slider values. Use these values as a start point for all future shots taken with the Big Stopper...

Hey all,

Thanks for the tips, been out today to the coast of North Wales, a bit retricted on location as I was relying on another togger driving, but used the big stopper and I'll try the ideas bounced around here.

Thanks once again.

Just shoot in RAW and change the white balance in ACR (Adobe Camera RAW) until it looks right. Pretty straight forward really.

The paperwork that comes with the filter says use custom WB between 9k and 10k

If you go to Lee's web page about the big stopper they themselves say that it has a slight magenta hue. The say that it is unavoidable with such a strong filter and that the colour cast can easily be corrected by the use of the 81C filter they sell.

No affiliation with Lee I just read the pages.
