LED: ringflash, video light

Hello,

have you ever tried to use the new cheap LED ringflashes like this one?

I would use it mainly for portraits and I am just wondering: is this powerful enough?

I have also noticed cheaper video light alternatives (comparing to Lowel)

I would love to hear your opinion about them.

No direct experience of either of them but given the fact that the ringflash says that it's a macro ringflash then I'd bet money on the fact that it's not powerful enough to use at the distances used in portraiture.
