Looking for some mains powered led lights for macro set up ,what do people recommend?

If critically accurate colors are desired, I would avoid them. If not, then moderately expensive LEDs can be acceptable (CRI 85+). Cheap LED's are a complete crap shoot and mostly unacceptable... you can find some that are 1/2 decent, but you'll go thru a lot trying to find them.

I tried various cheapies but wasn't enamoured with any of them. I eventually found the Kaiser Starcluster which maintains an accurate colour temperture throughout the intensity range. It's light enough to pop on the hotshoe/bracket for outdoor macro, good on a mini-tripod and can be powered by AA's, mains adapter or even Canon LP-E6's (5D2, 5D3 batteries).
