Leave it attached...

not that fussed really ,as long as am out and about

nifty as im usualy playing with my wireless flash and just messing about, sharpest lens i have

100-400L. Luvverly lens :D

My 70-200 is permantly attached to my 50D at the moment unless I'm doing some portrait stuff then my 50mm comes out to play.

I need to save for a 17-40 though!

Sigma 18-200mm is on my 350D, nifty on my 500N.

S

Sigma 17-70 on the Camera, Nikon VR 70-300 in the bag

50mm on all the time.

I'm just curious as to what lens we all keep attached to the camera body ready for 'out the bag' shooting? I leave my 55-200mm lens on most of the time.

What do you ladies and gents do?

10-20mm always. But hopefully getting a 50mm f1.4 too so that will probably be on for street/portrait stuff.

The beast usually, or the 70-200 f2.8.

I remember reading a few years ago a pro photographers blog, he stated that pros tend to consider what assignment they are undertaking before picking gear.

I took this to heart and have tried always to consider what environment I will be shooting in then pick the kit.

Hear goes :--

Family party or fun event where I am a participant = Canon G9

As an observer:-

Low light situations = 24-70 f2.8

Crowds/ Events 17-40 f4

Nature 70-200 + 1.4 TC

Then we get on to Bags!!!!!

70-200 most used lens and it makes the best of the space in my bag :D

my 55-200 soon to be left on is the sigma 18-200:thumbs:

what ever was fitted last time it was used

My favorite lens is the Nikkor 18-70 so that will usually be on the camera.

most likely to be the 70-200 or 100-400 depending on what I was last using!

24-105L, she is a peach.

I keep either a 17-40mm on or the 70-200mm, with the other lens attached to my back-up 350d or EOS30.

18-135mm, since it came with the camera I figure it is pretty much prepared for anything since the only wildlife I have here in my city is people.

55-250 pretty much lives on the camera

If it's just a general wander, I'll probably have the 18-70 fitted. If I'm expecting to need something longer, the 70-300 VR is more likely. I have been known to carry 2 bodies so I have both bases covered, although I'll almost always leave one in the bag. IF I can talk my wife into it, there may also be another body, this time a film one (for FF) with a 12-24 Sigma attached. If I'm lucky, she'll be carrying the 8mm fisheye as well, just in case.

Chances are that if I'm out with a DSLR, I'll have the rucksack on my back, so I'll have 12-300 covered, possibly with a 1.5x telecon as well. Don't often carry the 170-500 unless I'm sure I'll want it - a 'pod of some sort is almost a must with that!

70-200mm almost all of the time. Just lately it only comes off to be replaced by the 200-400mm. The 18-200mm is for holidays.
