You will have to excuse me if this doesn't work !
I am trying to put a picture into a thread for the first time and computers are definately NOT my forte.
There should be a Dragonfly image (Broad-Bodied Chaser) here if this works!
If not its back to the drawing board.

yep ..excellent too...!

perhaps crop a bit [20%] off the bottom...?

Wow, what a wonderful little creature! Great shot  and well done on the uploading!

I'm no expert but instantly I agree that maybe it would be better with a little cropped off the bottom. The positioning of your copyright maybe indicates that you were planning/had planned to do so?

Many thanks for looking LucyQ and Yardbent.
Yep you are both right in that it does need cropping which in my haste to try posting a picture I forgot and haste/excitement is also the reason I miss so many shots at the moment too!
There is so much to try and remember to do before the subject goes off about its business when your new to the game isn't there.

Welcome fellow noob!

Nice shot! What camera and lens did you use to get that?

A great photo to have as your 'welcome' shot, keep em coming

Also interested in the kit. Not an area I've got into yet, but this is an excellent pic so would be interested in kit, settings etc

Nice one

Helllloooooo? Any news on the equipment used?

Hi everyone , my thanks for your comments and sorry for delay in reply.

I used my EOS 7D together with the Tamron AF 18mm - 270mm F3.5 - 6.3
Di ll VC which I reckon was a very good buy and has certainly produced some of my better and crisper ( in my opinion of course ! ) images.
The 7D is a cracking camera and still being a small sensor you benefit from the crop factor still especially handy with the above lens.

Being new myself I am still all fingers and thumbs and have missed more shots than I care to mention - come to think of it very much like my fishing prowess !

I am still getting used to this forum myself but everyone seems quite friendly and ready to help - and thanks to your goodselves I also now know I need to look back at previous posts !

Thanks again

John
