Week 31 - Contrast

The Sidh. Their show makes a lot of use of areas of light and dark, so when shooting them my aim was to catch the band members in pools of light, capturing shots with significant amounts of contrast.
This one I thought worked really well in B&W

Great catch-up Tim. I really like the charging knight.

Greta catch up and some lovely shots
:)
Great catch-up Tim. I really like the charging knight.
Cheers. The knight was quite hard to shoot as I wasn't close enough to the front to have an unobscured view and thus I was shooting between people.
I think the time I spent, in the past, in dingy forests shooting rallies definetly helped with the panning. It's not perfect, but the horse is moving in more than one direction so I'm quite happy with it.

Week 21 - Figures

From the demos of fantasy figure painting at LAGC a couple of weekends ago.
Closed down sufficiently that the DoF wasn't *too* shallow whilst using the ambient room lighting rather than flash in order to not disturb the paying punters at the event.
I feel there was sufficient DoF on the figure itself whilst it was shallow enough to lose the clutter in the background somewhat.

I'm very unlikely to complete the 52 this year, but I have made a number of images with at least a passing thought to adding them to my 52.

So thus...

Week 25 - Snappers Choice

It goes without saying that I would choose something like this for snappers choice :)
Single gridded beauty dish positioned to give broad lighting with a touch of drama.

Week 38 - Favourite Place

In which universe would I not post a Comic Con photo as a favourite place?
Shot at the NEC, MCM Birmingham Comic Con In late November using the Molus X100 for lighting.
Resort World deliberately in the background to give a faintly urban feel to the image.
Jane's Cat Woman in this shot is very different vibe to Katie's Cat Woman that I posted for week 37.

Great catch-up series Tim, I particularly like your Snapper's shot.

These are all awesome. I always look forward to your cosplay images Tim.

Great shots, I also enjoy your cosplay shots. The axe in flight is surprisingly effective, drew me in to look again
