Layers with PSE9

Can anyone help, I need to copy and paste an image into a new layer. I have a layer ready and an image on my desktop but would like to copy the image for an ebook cover (this I have already downloaded and ready)
 
Try dragging and dropping using the move tool. You will probably have to re-size image to get it the right size.
 
Oh ok, I will try that. I was following a tuturial and it said I hould copy and paste it. Maybe I can not do that with PSE9. Thank you for your help.
 
yes it's pretty straight forward.

open your background image as normal. then click >file >open and then open your new layer image. Click the move tool then drag your new layer image into the window of the background image.

you can then resize it to suit :thumbs:

You certainly can if that is the way you wish to do it.:)

Open the image in PSE9 you wish to copy, then using the keypad do Ctrl + A then Ctrl + C you can then close that image down if you wish.

Next open the image you wish to paste it on and then do Ctrl +V and job done.
