I know it's not quite the time for it yet, but does anyone know of any lavender fields, preferably in the South Central/South West. Hoping to visit them for sunrise/sunsets, so need somewhere where access isn't an issue, as I know some of these fields close at 5pm, which is obviously too early for sunset.

Hi Jake,

Snowshill by Broadway is probably your best bet.
I am planning to go there at some point

Thanks all, I've looked into the Somerset and Cotswold sites, but both say they are only open from 10-5, which isn't ideal for the best light. I've seen photos at sunrise/sunset on here before, so wondering where you go?

I went in July last year and everything was well underway I would guess that late June early July would be fine.
Should clarify, it's Somerset Lavender that I am referring to.

I will probably head over in early July. Thanks for the information! I assumed you were on about Somerset :)

Might be worth contacting these places and asking if it's possible to get access "out of hours". The worst thing they can do is say "No"!

Somerset Lavender (Faulkland village) - end of June / early July.

The public footpath goes right through the fields so certainly no need to ask

Dont forget our own TP Poppies, lavender, sunflower and bluebell Map https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=212118571984567357566.0004a5c5df3fa2523ba5e&msa=0 with legend

As you can imagine I don't think there are any fields in the sea. Thanks to some low form of life with too much time on their hands or a jealous photographer (they do exist, I'm aware)

We need to rebuild that, but not leave it open like before.

It's to prevent this kind of distruction of a resource that both the light trails map and the fireworks map as locked at this time, I'll be opening the fireworks map to edit's again about a month before bonfire night

Thanks Tomas, this will be my choice then! I will have to head over at the end of June and see what I can come up with. If I can get anything like the ones on your website I'll be chuffed!

Putting a little bump on this, does anyone know if they lavender is in full flower yet? If so does anyone fancy a mini meet one morning for sunrise?

Somerset Lavender is on a public footpath so is available (with countryside care) at any time.

Somerset Lavender is only just up the road from me, as I understand it they have been trying to get the footpath closed/re-routed for some time due to the number of photographers damaging the area at sunrise/sunset.

Best to tread very, very carefully if paying a visit.

I will hopefully get there before it is closed/re-routed. I'm not one for standing in flower beds/fields so countryside care will definitely be taken.

Not just togs or after hours!

Right, the time has come, and I will hopefully be heading here on Saturday morning. Where is best to park, and where does the footpath lead in through the fields, so that I'm not trespassing?
Thanks in advance :)

parking on the main street (and the only) and the footpath is very obvious once you see the sign.
