Has anyone else noticed that the latest version of Firefox is unstable? FF26 keeps falling over, particularly if I have a few windows to this site open, and it's doing it on 2 different Linux distros plus a Macbook running 10.8, so it's not platform dependent.

Can't say that I have experienced any issues. I regularly work with multiple tabs.

People still use Firefox???? I gave up on it at 3.5 when it really started to bloat.

Never had a problem before, except with any flash content on a Mac of course, but that's the fault of OSX.

I gave up on Firefox in about April/May.... found it bloated, slow and constantly requiring updates.

Swithed to Chrome which seems to like what Firefox used to be

See other software go this way too, AVG was another example that stands out.

My preferred alternative browser was Opera, but when the interface went chrome-like it really turned me away. I have to be really desperate to want to use Chrome, and Safari is less than optimal too unless I'm using the Macbook on batteries.

Ironically I'm finding the current one less of a bloaty pig than the others. Not noticed any stability issues. I used to have to restart daily to clear the memory leak as it would bloat up to 1.7GB and hog the computer. Now it still bloats but I don't get the beachball of non response all the time so I restart every few days instead.

I have found Firefox and its add ons really great. However I stopped updating at version 19 (which I am still happily using) - because the one after had a huge green download arrow that kept flashing in the top right of the screen and I could not find a way to get rid of it - it was so distracting and annoying.

Is the tedious green arrow still a feature?

firefox 26 running ok on my pc.
Firefox still better than chrome for me. Chrome is faster is some aspects but overall firefox better.
and moreover google is behind chrome and over your shoulder.:|

Jay - I've never seen the green arrow. I've skinned mine with Metalic from the add-ons, and it's always been clean, but the default skin could get irritating.

I'm finding this too, Firefox used to be very stable but crashes regularly now. Still faster for me that other browsers I've tried but it's becoming frustrating.

Thanks Mariner, I might try upgrading again once the present issues are sorted then.

firefox has been a bag of poop for a long time now, regular crashes and memory leaks. flashplayer plugin crippling CPU (even on an i7 quad).

Ironically the Android version seems fine.
