Fascinating, really interesting.

Cool.

I often wonder how far we'll eventually travel. The Moon is a fair step to us but nothing in real terms. How much further can we go?

I think another question is will the human race survive long enough to develop the technology to go to the stars?

More importantly, should we? We've screwed this one up so should we export ourselves to spread the "joy"?

The stars are a very long way, we'd be looking at hyper speeds for that I think, something we might never achieve.

I think travel to the furthest reaches of the Solar System might be achievable in a few hundred years. From there though, it's a massive leap to anything significant and I think that will be forever beyond our reach.

To paraphrase something from Star Trek... Perhaps one day we'll find that interstellar travel is a lot easier than we think.

Unless there are deep dark secrets out there the technology seems to have hardly advanced in capability at all in the last 50 years or more so I do hope that there are as yet undisclosed secret developments otherwise I/we are unlikely to see any movement on this within our lifetimes. And of course some people think there are better ways of spending money here on Earth.

I'm not so sure. When I hear someone say something like this I remind myself that it took humans 50,000 years to get from East Africa to Australia.

It might take that long to get to a habitable exoplanet but I think we will get there.
