Lastolite Uplite - any users?

I've just been browsing (instead of working!) and came across the Lastolite Uplite. It seems like it could potentially be useful for shooting outdoor portraits/couple shots.

I tend to work on my own, so using reflectors hasn't really been an option (I can't bring myself to try using reflectors on stands outdoors - can't help thinking that the slightest breeze would blow it over).

If anyone wants to share their experience of using the uplite that would be very much appreciated.

I'd be surprised if *no-one* had ever used these or had an opinion on them...

I suspect most people just use a reflector, a stick and some gaffer tape....

I've used the kicker light (http://www.lastolite.com/kickerlite.php) which is a similar idea but takes a flashgun. Quite useful in providing fill for a full length if you keep the power low.

Given a bit more time to set up I might do the same (or even invest in a light stand, clamp and some sand bags).

But for the speed of work at most weddings I thought something ready to go might be useful - maybe I'll just have to take a chance and buy one. (can't imagine any of the shops nearby having one in to look at)

Apart from the extension pole in the middle, the supporting bracket looks exactly the same as the kickerlite one (I'd be amazed if it isn't).

Not something for using at speed.....

Plus...it goes on the floor, right? Even if it reflected 100% of light (which it won't - not even close) then that's very little light for a portrait of somebody standing up.

I've used a Kickerlite at weddings with a speedlight in it and it's not so bad. But not quick to set up.
