For those of you who have one, how much power is required to get it peaking white when your subject is exposed at, for argument's sake, f/8 ?

If you only have one flash / strobe in one side, can you get it lighting up the hilite uniformily enough and at what power...

Thanks :)

They're quite efficient. You need two lights to get things even, but a couple of hot-shoe guns will do it.

Using a Nikon D3/D700, you've got ISO coming out of your ears so no problem at all.

Thanks Richard.

Might try first with a couple of cheap flashguns, assuming I can set their power accurately enough. Certainly cheaper than getting another couple of studio strobes!

I lit mine with two YN460II flash guns on about 1/4 power so no problems. The biggest challenge was to get an even light spread from the flashes as that helped to even out the lighting on the hilite.

Two flashes - one each side - does help loads though.
