Does anyone have any reviews of this octa box yet?
I was wondering how it would compare to the Apollo orb.
I was looking for a large ish box for on location shoots. 99% of the time with an assistant, but the fragile reports of the Apollo concern me, lastolite stuff is usually pretty bouncy.
Quite hard to find many examples of them.
I'm thinking about putting a couple of sb900s inside one to make a pretty easy to hold portable setup.

That looks interesting. I have looked at all the documents on the website but haven't been able to figure out how many flashguns it is possible to use. It mentions flashguns plural but is it 2/3/4?

It will take 4 guns.... on fotosense they sell a pack with the quad bracket that comes with spllitter cables and stuff for 1 radio and 4 guns.
I was looking at the 2 gun bracket though, which i think would be more than capable, unless you wanted really really fast recharge times.

Ezybox II softboxes use the new Ezybox II speed light bracket which can take up to two flashguns. The bracket can also be adapted to use with a Quadra with the Quarda Spigot and fits across the range. You can get an original Ezybox Quad Kit (discontinued but prob still available til stocks deplete with the vendor) which comes with a softbox and the quad bracket, fitting up to four flashguns, with a four way cable and tilthead, but does not come with the back plate to allow you to mount to a studio head. You can get this separately however, while stock lasts. The original Ezybox is NOT compatible with the new Ezybox II softbox brackets so you could not use the new Speedlight bracket with this. There is however the Ezybox II Octa Quad Kit that replaces the older and is compatible with the new bracket, but as the original, it does not come with the back ring, which you will need to fit to the Speedlight bracket. Best bet, get an Ezybox II Octa, the Speedlight bracket, and the Quad Bracket on its own if you want the choice of using 1gun, 2 guns, up to 4.

The light from the Octa by the way is incredible!

 feel free to show off some examples :)

I noticed on a lastolite video on youtube at photokina (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fklyPbbXNeI) there is talk of a panel to cover the quite wide opening that the new bracket leaves when only filled with 2 guns. Haven't seen any evidence of this, do you know if they have? Do you use it with guns or a head or both? its on my birthday wishlist for sure!

There's talk of a 'sock' of sorts, but nothing yet for the opening, but to be honest, I've seen it used with battery flash and the overspill is minimal.

I've only used it with studio heads myself as my battery flash is pretty cheap and probably not up to the job. I recently did my first boudoir shoot using just the largest Octa and I was really pleased with it.

There's a few more on my flickr page from this session as well. :)

thanks for sharing, good pics with some nice light!

I know people moan about Lastolite being pricey, but my softbox has been abused for a few years and only small signs of use where the plate squeeze in and out.

Shocked at hearing stories or people losing brolly boxes due to one fall, the softbox could happily be blown accross a field a be ok. Doesnt seem to be many alternatives.
