I've used 1Password on my Mac(s) for years and generally been very happy with it. For the last few months it's been a bit buggy in the way it interacts with Chrome (refusing to fill fields, not fining saved sites). I suspect all these problems would magically go away if I paid for the latest version but I wondered if there was a better product.

People seem to like LastPass (and you can import 1Password archives). Is that the best alternative?

I use Lastpass and have no issues. Also waiting for a hardware (Passfort) unit too :)

lastpass we use at my company (IT company), not my personal choice but works good

Nobody suggesting any security issues with LastPass yet - is it pretty solid?

Is that a LastPass dongle? Google says it's something separate.

Any particular reason? The paid for version is more than LastPass's paid for. Though both are cheaper than 1Password.

Admittedly I only used LastPass very briefly but always found it a bit hit n miss - I found that it would start auto-filling fields on forms with random entries.......that could very well be user error though.

Dashlane, for me anyway, has been a doddle. Easy, clear, slick interface and really customisable. I especially like the wallet feature that allows you to store payment details for online orders.

Definitely worth a whirl on a trial basis at least.

It's separate and was on Kickstarter funded project. I can't fault Lastpass and has improved a lot.

I use 1password myself. Did use lastpass a few years ago and found it very messy and hit and miss.

I suggested Dashlane as I came across an article on it the other day and gave a trial. It looks very good and gets some good reviews.

If you dont need to sync passwords between devices, its also free.

Another vote for 1password... never had any issues with it.

One more vote for Lastpass. It certainly was a quite ugly product, but it now has a much nicer UI. After looking at some technical reviews, it was up there with the best (though this was around 2 years ago.)

I've used Lastpass for several years and haven't had a single issue with it.
