Hi

We're going to Las Vegas for 3 nights and then on to Hawaii (the Big Island) for 9 nights.

We've been to Vegas a few times before and this time we want to try out a load of guns on one of the indoor firing ranges they have there. There are a number to choose from but we just wondered if any of you lot have tried it and which range you used. A couple of them do a VIP package, which appeals to us, and allows you to try out a number hand guns and semi auto/auto weapons for about $500. Anyone have any experience?

Hawaii - This is our first time so we don't want to miss the best bits on the Big Island. My wife is brilliant at organising these trips but I just wondered if there was anything that may not be obvious that you guys have experienced there, particularly from a scenic/photographic point of view?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Went there 10 years ago, Pearl Harbour is a must, and Waikiki beach too. We did a trek into the hills and forests which was excellent too.

If you go to the Hawaiian forests, take a macro lens; they have carnivorous caterpillars that hunt other insects.

I used this range https://thegunstorelasvegas.com/ a good 11 years ago.

Tried pretty much any known gun at the time. From memory some of them included a glock, beretta, desert eagle, M16, AK 47, Kalashnikov, snub nosed revolver but the one that stood out was the Dirty Harry magnum 44. I remember guns like the glock seemed like holding plastic with very little recoil - really precise and easy to target but the magnum had so much power and the noise was just something else.

I'd love to go back and try even more next time.

Having looked at their website they offer loads of different packages.

Do it on the first day because you might like it so much that you want to back again!!!

Walmart is quite good on one of the islands!

+1 for the gun store. We lived in Vegas for nearly 4 years and a lot of us from work went there.

Las Vegas guns are soooo expensive, around £500 plus to shoot anything decent if you get the ones that pick you up in a military Hummer. As an alternative, book a two or three night excursion to Prague (£200-250 per person with BA from heathrow and a good hotel) and go to http://www.topgunprague.com
Same sort of guns, great fun, you get to save money and have another break with the missus.

Good thinking. If we like the Vegas event that'll go on the to do list.

We're definitely going to shoot guns somewhere in Vegas. It's our wedding anniversary (10 yrs married, 20 years together) and we go back to Vegas every 5 years or so. It might seem like an unusual way to celebrate our union but if I was in any way unsure about the solidity of or marriage there's no bl00dy way I'd risk taking her to an event where she gets to hold loaded guns near me!

Funnily enough the Gun Store was high up on our list.

Thanks for all the ideas everyone, keep them coming.

Thanks again
