hi guys
i came in here for one purpose, your'e all so bloody clever i thought you will know the answer.
OK, i have this Aussie who wants me to burn a large outline picture of Australia onto a 4 foot square table, the map will be approx 2 foot in diameter and the trouble is as i am not that clever to draw it freehand, i wanted to print it out using several pieces of A4 paper then transfer it that way, How do i print out a map to the size i want, and what program would you use.

could try a projector, portect the image on an then draw it
 
You could use Iron on transfer paper transfer paper
 
As sue said the projector route would be good and maybe the easiest. If you can't come up with any other solutions over the next few days I could run you out a map at work to the size you need, you can then 'burn' through this onto the table or I'll print it out reversed then you can draw around the image in pencil flip it over and transfer the image onto the table be scribbing the 'wrong' side (as you used to do at school).

glen this is a most generous offer, the table will be delivered to me this thursday, i will have to measure and see what the aussie actually wants, as he wants other things on it as well, so can i pm you shortly and confirm the size please.

No probs, give me the size and i'll have a look to find a vector line art map of Aus.

Is it just the outline you want?

Size wise I can print out up to A1+
 
Or if you wanted to do it at A4...Google the rasterbator :) That should do the trick :)

would that make a map spread over several pages instead of cramming it onto one page.?? i would like to be able to do this, who knows, i may have to do it again in the future..
 
Careful how go Boon - the Aussies have already got too many Ashes as it is! :bang:
