large(ish) camera bag

Hello everyone,

Newbie here, looking for a new camera bag! I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction...

I'm looking for something that would easily fit my wedding photography gear, without being too bulky or expensive. I'm not bothered if it's not a brand name, my current bag was a £20 no-name and I love it! unfortunately I've outgrown it.

so, it needs to fit:

D7000 with grip + nikon 70-200/2.8
D90 with grip + sigma 17-70/2.8-4
2x SB-800
camera batteries + spare eneloops
filters
sd-cards


i know there's probably lots of lowepros and similar for £70+ out there, but my budget is around £30, and I hate backpacks. it needs to be a standard shoulder strap bag,

NaneuPro Sierra 115F or Correspondent C700 might do the job.
I advised a local member on another forum regarding a Naneu bag to meet his specific needs, and he bought it.

Slightly over budget once shipping is factored in, but even so, you'll get over it in due course. :lol:

Should also add, I purchased their K3L (replaced by K4L) from someone on ebay selling it as practically brand new (which it was) at a bargain price - would've been very rude not to!

back to trawling ebay for the bargain of the century...!
 
How do you figure £45-60 is too much for a kit worth circa £1500?
If your financial situation is dictating the budget, then for the sake of a month or so, why not 'persevere' with the current bag until the funds are a bit freer flowing?
 
It's not that it's a lot per se, but I'd rather spend £30 on a bag and £30 on a battery, than £60 on a bag. I guess it's just how my brain's prioritising this... I'd feel sick if I spent £100-odd on a bag!

I cant' see the point on spending loads of hard earned money on kit only to store it in a £30 bag. If I had that sort of equipment, then the cost of a bag to keep it in and ensure that it's safe is almost irrelevant.

I am thinking of getting a new bag myself and I havent got the most expensive gear, but I don't think I will be able to buy anything worthwhile for that budget.

It's just my thoughts, but if i was you I I would up my budget if i was you.

I'd have a word with that brain of yours regarding its prioritising process - get the best bag you can (£50, £60, £75) whether it be the Naneu's I've pointed out or something else, THEN discuss with yourself the merits of £30 for a battery with Nikon emblazoned on it, whilst looking at eBay's listings!

A decent bag is a one off purchase until major changes take place in equipment, batteries are a secondary thought.
 
keep an eye on the amazon site, the kata photo reporter 420 & 440 bags were going for £30 before xmas, they have jumped back up in price, but as amazon prices jump around you may get a bargin if your lucky.
I got one and its a great bag.
 
I thought you hadn't succumbed?
440 looks decent for a pair of bodies, but at £38 for something now sitting at £180 shows how much margin there is in bags or it was a blow-out to get shot of dead stock.

Thanks Pj, I'll re-evaluate things! But had a 'fake' battery leak in my d80 once, so no way I'm going fake again!
 
Fake is very different from an unknown branded one with similar or better mAh capacity.
I get the once bitten twice shy approach, but not everyone selling cheaper commodities is a crook or offering shoddy goods.
