Any LF users out there use anything different on their tripod? Ive got a nice heft stable red snapper tripod with a standard ballhead attachment and just notice when i bolt my Wista to it there is quite a bit of wobble unless im very careful when slotting film in. I just worry that i could be knocking it out of focus a little. Is there a large plate that the camera could sit on that anyone uses, would it even make a difference and give me more stability.

I use the Manfrotto 410 Geared Head, it's hefty but very solid.

I use one of THESE myself and it seems fine. Doing the head up tight enough is important, obviously, but otherwise I find the plate to be adequate in keeping my Ebony still. Not mega helpful, but I've never encountered a problem with the plate being too small etc. There will always be some elasticity / flex in a tripod setup, it's about whether or not the setup is easy to deform or not, as any play *should* come to rest back to where it was set initially, (ignoring the weight of the dark slide :) ).
