Hello,
I've got a feeling I might need a new computer, but am hoping not as I can't afford the expense at this moment in time!
Anyway, my laptop (Gateway MT6915b) struggles to play the video (HD 1080 I think) from my Lumix TZ20.
The spec of my laptop - according to gateway - is:
Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology
ntel® Core 2 Duo processor T5250
1.5 GHz | 2 MB L2 cache | 667 MHz FSB
Chipset Intel® GM965
Display panel 15.4-inch WXGA (1280 × 800)
Memory 2048 MB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (2 × 1024)
Operates at 667 MHz
Total slots: 2 DDR2 slots | Available slots: 0 DDR2 slots
Video controller Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
Up to 384 MB of Dynamic Video Memory
When I go to play the video in Windows Media Player, it says "its an MTS file which isn't recognised", and then goes through "changing media" then "codec acquired".
Then it plays. But very poor quality. Its sort of 'liney'. When there is movement on the video, its as if there are thick horizontal lines of video which cannot keep up with one another
Have tried 'Windows Movie Maker' but same poor quaity video...
It's an old laptop in tech terms, probably a good 5 years old, which has otherwise served me well! It has 2007 Windows Vista Home Premium OS if that makes a difference?
Incidently, when using the supplied usb cable from camera to my PS3, the video playback is great on my HD TV.
Any advice/help is much appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Joe
