Morning all,
A mate of mine wants a laptop for wifes birthday, needs to be windows, large storage (ie 1TB) and has a budget of £800 .
He asked me to have a look but I'm a bit out of touch on latest specs etc so I thought I would ask you good people !
Oh and he needs it by Saturday ! Typical bloke ! So probably have to be Currys !
Thanks

Do you know (or can find out) what the wife intends to use it most for?

Well, assuming he wants 1TB of SSD storage, there are only 4 laptops Curry's offer that matches the spec and budget.
They're all ACER 14" models with three different CPUs and two different colours between them... take your pick! :)

Have a look here to see if anything fits the spec, You could always ask if the storage can be upgraded

HP have some on offer as well

My daughter has a variation on the first of the HP laptops in that list (she has the 15-EH0018na, which is a Ryzen 5 and 8Gb), and thinks it's great, so the 15-EH0014na would work.
If more storage is needed, then an external USB-C SSD would work reasonably well to add more when needed.

Another vote for the HP Pavilion. My wife has probably the same model as Faldrax's daughter and it's very good. I have a Ryzen 7 4700U in a 14" Lenovo laptop and it's very fast so that CPU in the HP chassis should be a winner.
