Hi all, I'm looking for a recommendation for my dad for a laptop, I don't know much about windows so looking for advice really.
He has £700-900 budget, he will be processing raw files and it will be running Photoshop and he will be surfing the net, so he doesn't need anything elaborate but would be looking for a bit of speed and decent screen. I know there are limitations where laptops are concerned though.

Thanks in advance [emoji2]

Laptops come with various specs and sizes etc..

Some of the questions you need to ask your dad is :

1) What size screen does he require? As a guess I would say 15" minimum? Does he need a Hi-res screen?
2) Performance - Some of the new laptops can take a mSSD (for the OS) and a standard drive for storage too - worth looking at that too - if not you can always change HDD to a SSD for about £70 onwards,
3) Some laptops have dedicated graphics card which Photoshop CS6 can take advantage off - also worth looking at that.
4) CPU/RAM - I would say go for a Intel i7 CPU (now its in 5th Gen form) - some might say its overkill - but in 3-5 years time it the laptop will still do it job - aim for 8GB of RAM - but if it has 4GB - it can be upgraded.
5) I bought several laptops from Dell Outlet site - some are really good value for money - and you can probably pick up the above spec for around £450 mark - make sure you go for "Certified Refurbished" - also comes with 12 month warranty.

Hope this helps.
