Ok I'm going to sound stupid here and I will need babysitting on this one, or a very good easy to follow guide.

I created a really good HDR picture using Photomatix and adjusted etc in Lightroom. The Picture looks perfect when looked at on iphone, websites etc but I just noticed having set it as my background wallpaper on my laptop it looks very pixelated.

Not sure why this is but it must be a colour management thing.

What I do not understand is why it looks different on the same laptop screen when I view it in Lightroom, web sites etc ? Am I missing the obvious here or just being stupid?

Laptop is Samsung Intel Core i5 Win 7 NP 300e

Colour profile ??

Size of file is 17.6mb at 5184 x 3016

Did you save it as sRGB? That can look pixelated sometimes if not depending on setup.

Can we see the image in question please? and is it jpg? for a jpg that seems high, or what extension?

Taken as RAW. Edited with Lightroom and exported as Tiff to Photomatix. Processed and put back into lightroom. Exported as Jpeg. You should see a snipped I have just taken of both the image as I view it when opened, and the image set as background on my laptop. Notice the left background picture is slightly pixelated. Surely if my laptop can show it clear it should not be different when set as a background image.

I will give it a go and see, you may be right. As you can see it had me baffled

Yes yes yes it worked. Thank you sooooooo much. Too large a size was the issue. I have attached the new size below for you to see and by all means let me know what you think. I have just started practising HDR and this is my 3rd picture which I'm pleased with.
