Anther bag thread sorry guys.

Right I am at uni and often come home/ go away for extended periods so need lappy and camera kit together, separate bags for this is an absolute pain and my current shoulder bag is hateful.

My kit is:
a 450d (considering another body at some point, probably once I am into a new set of loan money)
a canon80-200 f2.8L
a tamron 70-300 f4-5.6 (probably gonna be sold soonish)
a canon 35-105 f3.5-4.5
a canon 18-55 IS (kit)
a canon 50mm f1.8
a 430exII
a cheap n nasty hama tripod, with bag but would like to integrate if possible
acessories anon
and of course a 15" bogstandard laptop

My budget is as low as possible but covers all these options and some higher ones if I can be convinced they're worth the investment.

The bags listed in price order from warehouse express:

a naneu bag, not a name i know but looks ok
http://www.warehouseexpress.com/product/default.aspx?sku=1027044

a lowepro fastpack 350, like the easy access and extra space for other kit, worry about camera kit space
http://www.warehouseexpress.com/product/default.aspx?sku=1024418

a lowepro computrekker, has more camera kit but no other space
http://www.warehouseexpress.com/product/default.aspx?sku=10153

a lowepro compurover, similar to previous but dearer
http://www.warehouseexpress.com/product/default.aspx?sku=1010224

and my sort of favorite (but is dear) as it is the nicest looking a crumpler pretty bella

I appeal to the wisdom of tp to steer me right, as nothing suitable is in the for sale section and i can't fit my new lens in my current bag if i want the body aswell.

Cheers Guys,
David

Have you considered the Tamrac Adventure bags? I have an Adventure 9 and I'm very pleased with it. I bought it to mainly for hiking on rallies, can fit all my gear (with plenty of spare space), lunch box in the top and water proofs in the laptop space!

I think you'd just about fit all your gear in one, otherwise perhaps look at the Adventure 10?

Not sure if you were planning to get it from Warehouse Express, but they do seem quite expensive. The bag I have is £74.99 on there, I got it new (still sealed) from eBay for £55! For some reason the grey version (which is what I have) of the same bag is considerably more at £97.99!!!

Regards,

hmmm thank you, i looked at all the manufacturers and managed to miss any tamrac laptop bags - DOH

I prefered the computrekker over the tamracs because the computrekker puts the laptop next to your body (and mine is very heavy) but the adventures put it about 10" behind you and it felt like I was being pulled over backwards.

With a bag I think its a case of going along to a shop with all your gear, trying to fit it in, and then trying the bags on loaded to see what its like

I have the tamrac adventure 6x, the laptop secion is at the back of the bag on mine. Cant compare to other bags as i havent tried any, but the build and design is very good on mine. I would definately look at the size as i know someone with an adventure 9 and its HUGE!

In my 6x i have the following kit, with a couple of compartments spare:

400d with 24-105 attached
sigma 70-300
sigma 10-20
nifty fifty
sigma 105 macro
580 EXII flash
filters, batteries, memory cards and some other random junk :)

David, I have a Mountainsmith 'Odessey' Camera Backpack - used once only - it's a great bag - just not my style - I prefer peli cases - Make me an offer. It cost £165 new incl postage - looking for around £110 incl parcel force.

It holds loads of stuff and a laptop in a special padded section.

It is immaculate. PM if interested.

+1 for the Tamrac Adventure 9 - mine is perfect for holding my kit and a laptop while I'm out at motosport events (as usually the "stars" of the show want to see their photos on the day!) plus waterproofs and the most important part: lunch.

Have a look at the Kata DR466, its on offer on WEX at the mo at £37.99, really well made, tough as old boots.

... the adventures put it about 10" behind you and it felt like I was being pulled over backwards.

Not sure where they go on the smaller bags, but on the Adventure 9 and 10 the laptop compartment is right against your back.
