Thought I'd pop out and give the brand new second hand 5D a test tonight, so I headed out to the local sunset spot, over looking the medway estuary.

I finished shooting and was just running of a couple of last minute shots when I heard a car approach - the driver blew his horn, which made me start a little. I didn't recognise the car or the occupants (a chavy looking yoof and his young lady friend), so I carried on shooting. They they then turn their music up (bizarely money money money - by abba), then down, then up, then down.

The Yoof then calls me a "Disgusting Peasant" and they drove off!

I was most bemused.

Probably pee'd off that you ruined his quiet spot for a bit of necking with his chavette

Happens all the time, especially at landscape spots with car parks close by. Though I think the car parks are more appealing to the chavs than the landscape.

I may not be up to speed on such things, but what is a 'yoof' - an alternate spelling for 'youth'? Comparable to people writing 'u' instead of 'you'?

YOUNG & OUT OF FOCUS!

It was an attempt to make the thread more witty by introducing a textish/commonish popularism.

Clearly it failed and I've incurred the wrath of a self appointed grammar policeman......

(what a waste of my 100th Post!)

A yoof is a young uneducated waster who doesn't even command the respect of being called a youth. Most appropriate in this case.

Not dissimilar to a "NED" which I believe is of Glaswegian origin and is "non employable delinquant"

The "chavy looking yoof and his young lady friend" were hooting at you to invite you to take some photographs of them. As they were very very important people and you failed to take them up on their invite you were obviously a disgusting Peasant:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Wise choice you made I reckon :)

Cracking!

I would so love to have snubbed a z-lister!

you mighthave stumbled onto a previously unknown dogging hotspot

Go back, set up an array of flashes, take some pics of em next time they turn up!!

I must confess that although this encounter didn't unduly phase me, it did take the edge off the session- but some of the ideas here have put the bounce back in my step!

Sounds to me like he was out to impress his lady by yelling. And the music up/down was Chav comms for:
"dear Sir, would you kindly move on as I was hoping to begin courtship with this dear vixen and propagate some stains onto the rear seat of this vehicle. I shall now refer to you as a peasant - a tried and tested method to remove chastity belts - as I am a Knight on a White Cortina".

things like this make me want to invest in guns and napalm

Courtina? Try a Clio or a 106 these days

 fair one. Sorry - been watching too much Life on Mars.

Do they even make white Clios etc?

Makes it the same colour as the tracksuits/stains on the inside?
:naughty:

What you should of done is turn the camera on him, recorded him being a public nuisance and then dropped the DVD off at the police station ;)

You get idiots in all walks of life, just ignore them and know they are below you :D

Nah itz nat mayte, itz the citrine saxxoh with 25inch wheels to lift the mega speakers high up to ratze the manor :D:D:D

Personally I wouldn't worry about it, I get this sort of thing (minus the car and music) from the local chavs some of the time.

however I'm not the one that moves on, it's the chavs that end up running away, very quickly too :)

2005 Corsa is the 'Yoof-mobile' of choice apparently...

He was driving one of these! It was silver and "debadged" although can't be sure of the year - I'd hazard a guess that it was 1 maybe 2 MOTs away from the scrapyard.

Onto other subjects - 5D did impress me quite a lot; the quality of the images is stunning. The slight delay in seeing the preview is a mild annoyance for the impatient (a banner I fall under with pride) - but that's offset by the results. I love the giant viewfinder, it is truely epic. Shooting with the lens stopped down did reveal some dust that needs dealing with. I have to say that even after limited use I am dead certain it will be a great addition to the bag.

I'm processing the images now - if they have merit I'll pop them up (sunset wasn't quite as brilliant as I expected).

Maybe got "Dogging" and "Togging" mixed up...:lol::lol:

 Rob... does the mustang actually have Corsa written on the back?

^ Would be AWESOME!
