Relaxing with a pint at the Fish Inn after a walk around Buttermere. Beautiful views, cracking pint. Updating this thread in case anyone's wondering where we are as there's no mobile signal but there is free WiFi :)

Well, time to head back to reality :0(. Thanks again to @Andysnap and of course the CMS for making everything run smoothly (even if we nearly did miss the sunrise this morning!). It's been an excellent couple of days and my first attempts at LF so, once I develop them, there will either be tears of joy of the faint thud of a Polaroid going out the window ;0)

Cheers guys

And arrived home to my replacement ground glass that arrived on Saturday! Oh well, at least the 110A worked without it :0)

Mr Snap kindly dropped me in plenty of time to refuel at morrisons and get the 1612 from Penrith. Unfortunately there is no 1612, there is a 1645 that I now have to wait an hour for. Muppet.

At least I have the opportunity to mooch around Penrith castle. That should kill 10 minutes.

Great joy, even the supermarket is shut...

Grand, trains delayed.

I'm thinking of writing a book; things to do in Penrith when you're dead. I think it'll be much the same as what one can do whilst living.

So your theory that the postie was waiting until you went out was correct ;)

Train just went through at a hundred miles an hour, really hope the driver didn't miss the stop...

Not much whisky left now....

Beard oil and spooning.... All will be revealed

Bells..... Too much whisky.

Got home an hour and a half ago. Changed my mind this morning, gave up on Aira Force. I can report that the Cat has been Belled! So knackered on the drive down, I had to pull in to a service station and have a sleep. (Well, I reckon over the 3 days I got perhaps 9 hours of sleep altogether.)

Oh, and for @Strappy , I found two signs on the Terrace Path on the side of Catbells over the weekend, a little bit blurred, but they seemed to say that the name is Old English for the Bolde Farte of the Wilde Catte!

Just a couple of hours for us.... seriously great fun, thanks to everyone for making it so good. Trouble is the CMS enjoyed it so much she wants to come on more meets now...:runaway:

And very welcome she is too

Does she know that Bristol doesn't have mountains??? Would be great to meet her again, anyway. Thanks CMS, for so much effort making the weekend work so well. Did I say this already?

Just an absolutely outstanding weekend (y)
Biggest thanks go to the CMS for making it all happen and Mr Snap as well I suppose, thanks also to Yv for driving, particularly today's 8 hour marathon, thanks to Woodsy for sharing some of his outstanding whisky collection and finally thanks to everyone who turned up and made this the best film meet so far :clap::clap: Bring on the next one :banana::jaffa:

I think I have the meet equivalent of jet lag! Awoke this morning just after 5... mind you, I think I had more sleep last night than the previous 3 put together. Those beds... and 'cking @donut climbing in and out of that top bunk at all hours... :bat::D

Seriously, thinking of the next long film meet (obviously there's got to be one:banana::beer::snaphappy:(y)), I did wonder over the weekend if we'd have been better off b&b style. It would certainly have been more comfortable, but it would have been that much harder getting up for those two sunrises (thanks @donut!)... (yes, two sunrises!). Just checking out an example of more comfortable hostel accommodation, eg Plas Curig in Capel Curig; comparatively the sleeping arrangements would be better, but they chuck you out during the day, and being a dozen or so filmies among 30+ other guests would be a very different experience, requiring rather more care of expensive camera equipment, for example. Hmmm. Maybe we should have a separate "next time" planning thread?

I was a little nervous beforehand about spending a whole weekend with a group of people I didn't know and don't really share the common interest with. I thought I might have to go for long walks in the hills to get away from you all ;):D

Anyway, I needn't have worried. I really enjoyed the weekend and met a lovely bunch of people who didn't actually spend 100% of the time talking about, or playing with, cameras and film and gadgets and stuff! Thanks everyone! :)
