Lake District this time of year?

I all, just wondering what it's like to photograph the Lakes this time of year considering the poor weather?

If you get some snow on the hills and some detail in the sky it can be worthwhile, if not then it will probably just be cold, damp and grey :(

It's all about light. Hills plus light at this time of year is great because of the raking angles that you can achieve. With the Lake District at any time of year it's the airstream that is the key. If you get a westerly airstream then it tends to be warm and damp, which in the Lake District translates as Dreich. Get a dry cold northern or eastern airstream and you could be in for a treat.
 
Been looking at the weather for tomorrow and it's a N NW wind direction but it does say its dry?
 
I'm brand new to photography but I know the lake district.
Winter is the best time, colder the better to avoid rain. The lake district looks different everytime I go back
 
Winters colours (Gold) are far more spectacular than Summer (Green).
Plus the low sun produces better light.
Plus snow capped peaks add interest, depth and scale.

But no one said it was easy :D

Also....
No such thing as bad light - just the wrong subjects....
Grey overcast is perfect for waterfalls and woodlands.
Long as it's not raining too hard, then I'm happy :)

I too would opt for Wast Water- very bleak this time of year but also very dramatic too
